To work alongside our mentoring team of the Positive Futures youth engagement project within Rushcliffe with the overarching aim of using sport to engage ‘at-risk’ young people in order to identify and support their individual needs and steer them towards education, training and employment.
The main focus of the role is to develop trusted professional relations with young people to steer them to alternative positive outcomes.
This role will involve being out in the community during some late afternoon and evenings to work with local young people.
The aim is to stop anti-social behaviour occurring and aim to support young people to access workshops and employability support to raise aspirations.
To promote the project you will be expected to work in partnerships with the local parish council, primary and secondary schools.

It is desirable that you have experience working with or can relate to vulnerable client groups of which includes learning disability. It is also desirable that you have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care.

Residentials are part of the delivery and sleepover shifts maybe be required but not usually.
Working Pattern:
Monday – Friday (some weekends as and when required )
Admin / training / supervision 10am – 3pm
Delivery days 3pm -8pm
*subject to change due to delivery of projects etc
Details of employability support:
A mentor will be provided from day one of the placement, this mentor will shape the work programme and support day to day activities with young people.
The mentor will also provide fortnightly supervision meetings to support development and ensure that there are no issues or barriers to hinder the delivery.
We will carry out a needs assessment to identify areas for training development and work with you to create a development plan.
We have an in-house employability team that will be working with the candidate from the beginning to ensure that they capture all the experiences to develop their CV and to identify pathways for future employment. The team will support with applications, cover letters.
They will be provided with interview skills training.
