Neeraj had been unemployed for two years when he was referred to us from the Job Centre.
He had previous employment experience working for different warehouses across Nottingham, and mentioned during our initial appointment that he wanted to work in a hands-on work environment. He was also willing to consider additional training to build his skills and experience.
We had a conversation about his previous employment and discussed transferable skills and ideal opportunities that he would like to pursue.
Neeraj wanted to find work in construction, and we were able to support him to find a CSCS (Construction Skills) course with a training provider in Nottingham.
I explained the benefits of this course as Neeraj would be able to meet people who have a similar interest to work in this sector as well as networking, becoming more employable and gaining a CSCS card.
Neeraj is now attending the course and stated he feels more motivated learning new skills and experiences which will enhance his CV and help him to find work in construction. I spoke with Neeraj’s CSCS tutor to see how he was getting on and he mentioned;
Neeraj was delighted with the support he received from Metropolitan through the Nottingham Works 4 You employment programme, and he now has the right mindset in place to find employment.
The Nottingham Works 4 You project is part of the Nottingham Jobs service and is part-funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund (ESF).
Nottingham Jobs is a partnership between the Department for Work & Pensions, The Futures Group and Nottingham City Council.
