About the employer:

Nottingham is growing fast and is the focus of significant new development, and there are now exciting opportunities in the Building Control team. We are looking for two people to join us as Apprentice Building Control Officer Level 6.  You will need to have, or be working towards, an ONC in Construction or similar qualification, or three A levels, including relevant subjects.  You will build on these qualifications as you are trained in all the duties of a Building Control officer including:

About the role:

  • Checking plans and details in relation to proposed building work, for compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Inspecting building work on site to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and the Council’s Building Control policy.
  • Investigating breaches of the Building Regulations and to take appropriate action following Council policy including collating evidence, preparing reports and providing evidence.
  • Focus on the technologies, law, information management, finance, health and safety, sustainability and consultancy skills needed to deliver projects to professional and to quality standards.
  • Enhance your skills in construction and built environment related projects, management of people and resources, leadership skills.

Full Time , Hours per week – 37
