About the employer:

The Reskill and Recover project is being run by Nottingham Trent University who have established the B-Global Network as a key partner in ensuring that there are high levels of awareness and engagement within the BAME business community. Working in partnership with B-Global, Nottingham City Council are seeking a ‘Business Engagement Officer’ to fulfil the role of identifying and supporting businesses and their employees to engage with the offer of support available.

About the role:

Fixed Term for up to 12 Months
22 hours (3 days) per week
This post is part-funded by the European Social Fund.
Flexible working patterns and internal secondment arrangements will be considered subject to departmental agreement.
The starting salary is £30,095 (Grade: G1) Part Time – Pro Rata, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.

Working alongside the ‘Project & Business Engagement Manager’, the Business Engagement Officer will provide businesses and their employees with an ‘information, diagnostic and referral’ service into the Reskill and Recover project. The Business Engagement Officer will work with businesses and their employees to understand their business model and subsequent skills requirements, provide information on the Reskill and Recover project and complete quick and efficient enrolment for learners into the programme before referring them into the nominated delivery partner(s).
They will target and identify these learners using a range of resources available, carry out needs analysis, and advise the learners of the most appropriate support from the suite available.


  • Experience of working with employers and individuals on Skills and recruitment  and / or business support issues
  • Understanding of the role and support available from the D2N2 Growth Hub and B-Global Network
  • Understanding of skills needs analyses processes and performing IBD (information, diagnostics & brokerage) to businesses and an ability to provide feedback to employers.
  • Experience of working on funded projects (specifically ESF and / or ERDF) is desirable but not essential.
