Our aspiration is to make Nottingham a Great City, but to do this we need to be a Great Council, provide Great Services and recruit and develop a Great Workforce.

About the role:

Nottingham City Council Adult Social Care is a welcoming and supportive department, where Social Workers strive to achieve person centred outcomes, with a focus on choice, independence and control for the citizen. This is achieved via a strengths based approach for citizens from all parts of the community, and by developing and maintaining strong working partnerships with local health and voluntary organisations.

The department comprises various assessment and review focused teams, as well as specialised services and programmes / project teams that focus on re-engaging citizens with their community and encouraging creative support planning.

The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team completes Best Interest Assessments for citizens that may lack mental capacity to make decisions about their own care and provision. Social Workers within the team liaise with the Court of Protection and other legal bodies, as well as representing the Council and department in legal hearings.
