If you like solving IT problems and helping people get the most from their IT, this role will hit the spot!

In this role you will be the first point of contact providing help and support to Police Officers and Staff in person, over the phone and remote.

You will be learning about all the IT products and services used in Policing while studying, provide general advice and guidance on issues impacting the customers’ use of IT products and services, dealing with requests and solving straightforward IT problems. 

You will triage enquiries to determine the prioritisation of reported Incidents and Requests against the force priorities, complete initial troubleshooting, resolving issues there and then or recording the issues to help the investigation and diagnosis by other Information Services teams.

Nottinghamshire Police Staff Apprenticeships 

The apprenticeship scheme is open to individuals who are 18 and above. Applicants who are of the age of 17+ can apply, however they must be 18 at the point of starting with Nottinghamshire Police.

Nottinghamshire Police is now recruiting for apprenticeships; this is an amazing opportunity of joining the Nottingham policing family. Our apprenticeship programme runs for 18 to 24 months depending on the level of apprenticeship undertaken.  During this time, apprentices have the opportunity of gaining a vast amount of work experience within the policing environment whilst working in a police staff role.

What to expect

The 18 to 24-month scheme aims to equip apprentices with various skills and knowledge across a wide academic area, whilst gaining an insight into how police staff, support officers on the frontline.

What are the hours and pay?

Nottinghamshire Police apprentices will be employed on an 18 to 24- month contract. The working week is 37 hours and as a living wage on this apprenticeship will allow you the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience in the support staff functions of Nottinghamshire Police, giving you the chance to become a valued member of one of our many departments within Headquarters.

  • Shortlisting will take base on questions and qualifications provided
  • Successful candidates will be shortlisted and then be invited to interview
  • If you have passed the interview, conditional offers are made, subject to references, vetting and medical.

  • Vetting: Nottinghamshire Police vetting you will request some information from you to commence you individual vetting checks
  • Medical: You will be required to complete a medical questionnaire.
  • A full driving licence is essential for this role

Educational requirements

Minimum requirements to apply for this role are 5 GCSE’s A*- C. Candidates are required to attach their qualifications as a supporting document on their application form. Individuals who have not yet obtained their GCSE results are required to attach their predicted grades.

In addition to attaching your qualifications, you also need to ensure that you attach the relevant reference information.
