About the role:
We are seeking a candidate who is self-motivated, ambitious, dedicated to public service and wants to make a difference. If you have an interest in pursuing a career in local government property we will support you to become a fully qualified Surveyor, as you support us to ensure our Borough remains a place where people want to live, work and do business.
As a Degree Apprentice Surveyor within our Property Services Team we’ll support you through a 5 year programme to develop the skills, knowledge and qualifications needed to provide professional expertise and undertake all aspects of property management that deliver value for money for our Council and quality for our residents and businesses.
Whilst you study for a BSc (Hons) Chartered Surveyor degree at Nottingham Trent University we’ll provide you with a broad range of opportunities to put your learning into practice – allowing you to gain hands-on experience as we develop you to be able to (but not limited to):
• Support with the management of our property portfolio
• Assist with land and property transactions
• Effectively engage and consult with the public and local Councillors on matters related to the service
The NTU five-year apprenticeship programme will culminate in you gaining sector leading experience, a recognised degree, and Chartered Surveyor status with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
To be eligible to apply, you must have achieved:
• A-levels – BBB; or
• BTEC Extended Diploma – DDM; or
• T-Levels – Merit grade; or
• 120 UCAS Tariff points from an equivalent qualifications; and
• GCSEs – English and Maths grade C / 4 or above
Candidates must demonstrate a basic understanding of the property/estates management function, be able to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and be an effective communicator.
