The Ability First Employability Programme supports Nottingham city residents with disabilities, providing pre-employment support and experience which will enable them to develop their confidence and skills and become work ready in their own time.
If you are aged 18 to 29, unemployed and have a disability or long term health condition (or you’re the parent or carer for someone who is) we can support you to prepare for work. We're here to help you build your confidence and will support you to learn the skills you need to improve your chances of finding a job which really suits you.
Our friendly and helpful staff will support you to experience learning in a way which is enjoyable and tailored for your individual circumstances. Our group and individual activities are run in supportive environments or out in the community so you should be able to access advice and support near where you live.
We will meet with you regularly to:
- Discuss and agree assessments or support plans
- Help you create or update a CV
- Support you to attend job interviews
- Guide you to experience new employment situations and opportunities
