The Role

When it comes to customer service, airports often face some of the biggest and most exciting challenges in the industry and in order to do this successfully we need the very best people. 

In this exciting role you will have responsibility for the safety of our passengers and will get involved in anything from searching customers and their luggage, through to operating equipment like x-rays and observing screens. Patrolling our sites is also a big part of these roles, and you’ll be expected to make decisions and take action fast. Within this role  you will also have the opportunity to experience other roles within the Customer Services Department at East Midlands Airport.   

We have 12 month & 6 month temporary contracts available on a part-time flex contract which means you are paid for 21 hours per week, however, in our busier months you will work an average of 30 hours per week and in our quieter months you will work an average of 10 hours per week. This does not affect your salary which is paid consistently at 21 hours per week.  

Permanent positions may be available at the end of the contract depending on performance.

 Position Requirements 

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Have a passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Have colour perfect vision
  • Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years continuously (required for pre-employment checks)
  • Be fully flexible to cover a 24/7 operation which will include nightshifts, early mornings, weekends and bank holidays 

You don’t need any previous security experience as full training is provided and you will gain a Level 1 qualification in Aviation Security.
