Nottingham Counselling Service

NCS was founded in 1977.  We are an independent charity and leading provider of counselling services in Nottingham. The organisation support people aged 16 and over who experience problems in dealing with mental ill health and/or life changes which impact on their emotional wellbeing. Our vision is that people from all walks of life should enjoy excellent mental health and well-being and access to services should not be restricted due to their background or circumstances.

Job Role

  • Dealing with telephone calls and email messages
  • Taking and passing on messages
  • Provide information about the service to members of the public
  • Photocopying documents for all staff and counsellors
  • Franking and sorting outgoing mail ready for posting
  • Signing in/out clients and visitors to the centre
  • Filing and imputing client’s data onto the computer
  • Taking Room Hire/bookings
  • Ensuring that counselling rooms are kept in a tidy state
  • Maintaining record of library books

Skills & Experience Required

  • Able to communicate effectively in person and over the phone
  • Able to take and pass on messages accurately
  • Good standard of written English
  • Can follow simple instructions and perform multiple tasks
  • Flexible and willing to work as part of a team
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Able to manage time /self effectively
  • Able to work on own unsupervised on occasions
  • Able to pay attention to details and record information accurately
  • Positive Attitude and able to use initiative
  • Good attendance and punctual time keeping
  • Highly motivated an committed to doing a good job
