Safety Measures Ltd are a Health & Safety Consultancy and Training Company, established in 1994 and based in the NG7 area of Nottingham and they are looking to recruit an Apprentice to join their team.

The majority of work the apprentice will carry out will be to support the schools and organisations Safety Measures work with in relation to work placements with employers, this will include communicating with schools, employers and Health and Safety Advisors via email, letter and telephone.

Job Description:

  • Providing office support including customer and employee and Consultant support
  • Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity – mainly computer based
  • Keeping computer databases up to date
  • Interacting with clients on the phone and via email
  • Answering phones and connecting calls to the correct people, or taking messages to pass onto the correct people
  • Communicating with materials suppliers
  • May assist with Invoicing and purchase ledger
  • Using spreadsheets
  • Collecting and inputting company data
  • Making travel arrangements for employees
  • Learning about the company's mission and available services
  • Educating clients about what products/services are available
  • Building relationships with clients
  • Sending emails
  • Preparing documents by printing, copying, and binding
  • Writing and editing company correspondence
  • Collecting and sorting post
  • Scheduling appointments and events
  • Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements
  • Helping with the uploading of information to the company CRM system and website
  • Possibility of visiting employers and schools with existing staff
  • Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required

Skills and Personal Qualities:

  • Standard GCSE’S Passes but more important to desire to learn and gain qualifications in the job
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Confident on the telephone and dealing with people
  • A good knowledge of the Nottingham area is beneficial – but not essential
  • Able to work under own initiative particularly in the busier periods. We are always exceptionally busy between March and July each year
  • Available to start work on 01.10.18
