Futures Group is looking for a proactive and experienced individual who is passionate about supporting people to improve their lives through learning and employment.

Working as part of the Nottingham Jobs team, the post-holder will provide intensive support to a designated caseload of jobseekers and learners ensuring they enter training, employment or full time learning, primarily within the construction sector.

In partnership with Nottingham City Council, Nottingham College and Nottingham City Homes, this post will monitor and track the progress of people on the GetAhead and Construction Skills Fund programmes into employment and training.

You will provide information, advice and guidance, jointly developing and delivering interventions with training providers, employers and recruiters to help individuals start their journey to sustainable employment.

Key to this will be sourcing referrals via key partners such as Nottingham City Homes, Nottingham College, the Department for Work & Pensions and other teams within Futures such as the National Careers Service, enrolling individuals onto the Get Ahead and Construction Skills Fund programmes where you provide ongoing support.

Please note that appointment is subject to the final sign off of CSF contract.

The successful candidates will have:

  • NVQ IV in Careers Guidance/NVQ IV in LDSS/Qualification in Careers Guidance/Diploma in Careers Guidance (E) OR equivalent experience in employment support with willingness to work towards the above qualification(s)
  • PC Skills - basic ability in use of database, word processing, email and internet
  • Good communication skills with a wide range of people
  • Able to prioritise workload, control time and work in a target driven environment, whilst maintaining quality standards
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic
  • Ability to track and monitor a caseload of clients using MI/Social Media to move service users into positive outcomes.
  • Experience of negotiating with partners/networks/other organisations in the community to gain their support and involvement to progress young adults into employment and training opportunities
  • Experience of providing advice to adults looking to change career, gain new skills and work in the construction industry
