The Kickstart Scheme is the creation of new 6-month job placements for young people (aged 16-24-years-old) who are currently on universal credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

The Engineer’s assistant is a multi-disciplined role encompassing most areas of company’s engineering and prototyping activities. 

  • Learn from and assist the Chief Engineer in toolmaking for internal requirements
  • Learn from and assist the Chief Engineer in developing prototypes
  • Liaise with the Design Department in the development of prototypes
  • Help develop then assist and carry-out machine preventative maintenance regimes
  • Interface with engineering consumables suppliers
  • Act as the communication conduit between the Chief Engineer and both internal and external bodies
  • Clear and courteous communication with relevant team members
  • The staff member may be asked to carry out other additional duties to meet the needs of the business as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Engineer background with some knowledge or experience in steel, aluminium and polymer product.
  • A recent graduate or college/apprenticeship in the field of engineering.
