About Us:

FareShare Midlands are a food redistribution charity who save good quality food from going to waste. Fresh, tasty and in-date food and store cupboard necessities from some of the UK’s top food companies. Everyday our warehouses receive deliveries which our team of staff and volunteers work through. From unloading, sorting and storing goods to picking and packing orders to be delivered to charity members in our community who ensure this food gets to where it is needed the most.

Our distribution warehouse is on Lenton Lane Industrial Estate which is easily accessible with approx. a 5 min walk from Beeston Road, Dunkirk via public transport (find us here). We have a dedicated employability training room and team onsite delivering a blended supportive approach providing supervised real life, hands on practical work experience as well as vocational accredited training and world of work classroom learning.

We work with young people aged 18 to 24 in the Nottingham City area in partnership with the Nottingham Works 4 You project. We offer support to access warehouse skills training, real work experience and advice, with the end goal of helping young people find jobs and start successful careers.

How we can support you:

Our programme is designed around individual needs to provide the right level and amount of training support needed. Time spent with us is flexible and can vary from a couple of hours up to 16 hours a week. This is tailored around individual’s availability within our opening times, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. We understand that getting ready to enter the work place or returning after some time can be overwhelming and takes time to adjust. Whether it is a matter of weeks, months or up to a year our programme allows participants to discover their talents whilst working at their own pace to prepare them for their next steps.

Enrolments onto the programme can be at any time, followed by an induction with appropriate PPE provided, along with details on claiming back travel costs for the journey to us each time.
