Apprenticeship summary

As a Technical Support Apprentice, you will:  

  • Have a practical role analysing and resolving technical issues on systems critical to the successful running of the UK Rail Network.
  • Be responsible for investigating problems and the support of experienced colleagues in finding and implementing solutions.
  • Have the opportunity to design, develop and test software enhancements, extending both your technical and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate your passion for technology and learn how to deliver real value to our customers.

The apprenticeship will blend on the job experience, face to face workshops and online learning, leading to:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship Software Development Technician Level 3 (equivalent to A level / Highers educational level).
  • Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer (Java track).
  • Microsoft MTA Software Development Fundamentals (C# track).
  • BCS Systems Development Essentials.
