Footsteps to Futures are offering a fantastic opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to apply for a Deputy Manager position within our organisation. We provide therapeutic residential care for young people aged 7– 18 as well as bespoke psychological services.

It is essential that applicants have a Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care as well as experience of working with children in a residential setting, we welcome strong Senior Care Workers or Team Leaders who are looking for the next steps in their career as well as existing Deputy Managers who are looking for a new role in a reputable company who’s aim is to provide a high standard of care and achieve the best outcomes for the young people in our homes.

The Deputy Home Manager will be expected to work with the children and young people on a daily basis to ensure they are provided with the best possible care, as well as maintain the management of the home and complete office based work.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to:

* Assist the Registered Manager in the day to day running of a children’s home with a Therapeutic Community framework.
* Develop their own career by training to become the Registered Manager of the home

The successful applicant will have experience of:

* Working within a children’s home at a senior level and have experience of supporting management to operate the home.
* Safeguarding vulnerable children, as well as understanding children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
* Supervising staff and supporting them with their day-to-day care delivery
* Producing rotas, care plans, risk assessments and reports
* Attending multi-disciplinary meetings and representing your organisation
* Successful applicant’s will be able to demonstrate assertiveness, confidence and knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidance relating to children’s homes.
* They will be able to demonstrate high levels of commitment to the role and be willing to work out-of-hours and on-call on occasions.

The role of Deputy Manager within a Children’s Home is a diverse and challenging role which requires flexibility, effective planning and an ability to promptly respond to challenging situations.

The successful applicant will have a fantastic opportunity to accumulate a great depth of experience within this role and it is the aim of our organisation to develop the role into a Registered Manager.

Essential Skills:

* Achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
* Minimum of 3 years experience with young people in a residential setting
* Managerial/ supervisory experience within residential care
* Full driving license

Desirable Skills:

* Working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
