Fixed term for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of an extension 

The starting salary is £32,020 (Level One) rising to £33,820 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

About the role:

Nottingham City Council’s Statutory Homelessness Service is looking for enthusiastic applicants to join the Prevention & Assessment Team. The post holder is responsible for supporting the Prevention & Assessment Manager in matters of housing advice casework, helping to prevent homelessness and acting to ensure that the City Council fulfils its legal and safeguarding responsibilities to citizens in housing need or crisis. This will include supervising the work of the front line team in matters of; housing advice, homelessness prevention and deciding homelessness duties in accordance with the Housing Act 1996, Part 7 (as amended). 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Able to provide technical advice and case oversight to colleagues on a variety of homelessness issues.
  • Ability to supervise and positively support colleagues in a multidisciplinary team
  • Significant working Knowledge of Homelessness and associated legislation and able to advise colleagues and decide any duties owed to citizens for the Authority
  • Commitment to providing a high quality customer focussed service
