About the role:

To contribute to the implementation of the duties placed upon Nottingham City Council by the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, the Flood Risk Regulations 2009 and the Land Drainage Act 1991. 

To foster and maintain relationships and partnerships with other key organisations involved in flood risk management.

To reduce the risk of flooding to residents of the City by ensuring the effective maintenance and inspection of Ordinary Watercourses and management of the City Council owned reservoirs.

To assist with the delivery and maintenance of the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and Surface Water Management Plan.

To collate and maintain a register of all drainage assets throughout the City including those assets owned by third parties.

To provide a professional drainage consultancy service including undertaking site investigations, feasibility and options appraisals, engineering design and preparation of contract documentation, supervision of construction work and controlling scheme expenditure.
