Exciting labouring opportunity which involves being able to travel and work outside for a 16-24 year old through the new Government Kickstart Scheme.
The Kickstart Scheme is the a new initiative to introduce 6-month job placements for young people (aged 16-24-years-old) who are currently claiming Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
Please note that this role involves travel but that this will be provided to candidates in and around Mansfield and contribute to your working hours.
DJT Poultry Services are a new company that are currently looking to hire Trainee Poultry Technicians.
Your role will involve the catching of poultry to be vaccinated and loaded. Full training will be given and no experience is necessary. This role will be based in various locations and will require travel – you will be picked up from near your house in a van that can fit 9 people (up to half capacity will be filled). You will be paid hourly for working hours and travelling hours.
There is a genuine opportunity for the right candidate to be offered permanent employment following this placement. Should you be successful in securing a permanent position after your placement, your hourly rate will increase.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications
We are looking for reliable and trustworthy staff to join our teams. The position is very physically demanding so all applicants should be in reasonably good health in order to keep up with the physical demands that the position requires.
You will be working at least 25 hours per week over 2-3 days (shifts can vary and be up to 12 hours including travelling time). Overtime may be available.
You will be required to be fully flexible and available to work over 7 days/nights as the as shift patterns change each week.
Some jobs are in Scotland so you may be required to stay overnight for which you will be paid a daily stop out rate.
Details of employability support provided during placement
You will be required to attend 3 training days once you start: the first day will be your company induction, the second training day will be a day long course covering topics such as Manual Handling, Bio Security, Health & Safety, Poultry Dust and face Fit test and day 3 will be a First Aid in the work place course.
Once on site you will be buddying up with the team Forman for him to train you and Guide you through your job role and will have weekly visits from myself to support you through this process.
Futures will provide employability support to candidates, including CV and application form writing, interview techniques, working as part of a team and basic employability skills such as presentation and time management.
