Kitchen Assistants required to assist the Cook Supervisor and the Assistant Cook with preparation and service of the meals in schools across the City

No experience is necessary as full training will be provided. Due to the nature of the role applicants must be physically fit, able to take instruction, able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to work as part of a team.

Job purpose

  • To assist the Cook Supervisor and the Assistant Cook with preparation and service of the meals.
  • To assist with the cleaning of the kitchen and the equipment.

Principal duties and responsibilities

  • To assist with the preparation of vegetables, sauces, sandwiches snacks and salads.
  • Cleaning of equipment and premises.
  • Preparation of the dining room, including moving furniture, wiping tables and trays and setting up the counter.
  • Serving customers and taking cash if necessary.
  • Washing up kitchen and dining equipment, also kitchen cloths.
  • Working within food hygiene regulations and Health and Safety.
  • Helping within special function when required by the school
