Can you swim and are you interested in a career in sport and physical activity? We are looking for a number of apprentices to join our hard working Sport and Leisure team to help support the work and development of our leisure centres and swimming pools in Nottingham.
Our sports events and leisure centres are used and enjoyed all year round by the people of Nottingham – in the last 14 months we have hosted the World Cerebral Palsy games; the Aegon men’s tennis open; a Women’s WTA tennis event; the Swimathon; as well as numerous regional, county and local events. Over the last ten years we have invested over £50million improving our leisure centres and swimming pools.
As an Apprentice in our Sport and Leisure service, you will learn the importance of physical activity in a healthy lifestyle, learn how to prepare the environment for people to participate in sport and physical activity, ensure the health and safety of participants as well as learning skills to keep Nottingham’s population fit, active and healthy.

What we’re looking for…
We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, committed to work and learning, ambitious and above all an excellent communicator. We’re also looking for someone who understands what good customer service means to the people of Nottingham.
We need you to be enthusiastic about sport and leisure and able to swim. You should have customer service skills and knowledge of sports and the importance of physical activity. You should also be committed to working in a team.
Your on-the-job training will be supported by a Level 2 apprenticeship qualification in Leisure Operations and during your apprenticeship you will also work towards the Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
The first 3 months will be at National Apprentice Wage and the remaining 9 months will be at National Minimum Wage according to your age.
