Since opening in 2007, The Larder has earned a reputation as one of Nottingham's best independent restaurants. Our cooking style is best described as British and European, with a daily changing menu based around excellent seasonal produce. We are now looking for an Apprentice Chef to join our talented team.
Within this role you will gain skills and qualifications pivotal to becoming a chef. Working in a fast paced environment you will gain hands on experience in the day to day duties involved in working in a small but professional and busy kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are passionate about pursuing a career as chef and have a genuine interest in the hospitality sector. The Larder is one of Nottingham's best independent restaurants and their reputation precedes them.
Duties and topics covered across the role will include:
- Al a carte and fine dining - Modern cooking techniques - Roasting and braising techniques - Knife skills - Plating and presentation skills - Preparing stocks, soups and sauces - Dealing with deliveries, stock control & ordering - Assisting on prep days and preparing ingredients for senior staff - Cleaning - Baking and homemade desserts - Preparing meat, fish and poultry
